Job Description:
RED are a leading UK and international recruitment consultancy based in the north-east. RED deal with leading clients from within the energy, power, transportation and construction industries.
For one of our leading power and energy clients we have an excellent opportunity for am operations manager.
As operations manager it will be your responsibility to safely deliver robust and reliable substations, ensuring improved efficiency and value through collaboration. To manage a team of project management staff responsible for the execution of nominated substation projects.
Reporting to the Construction Operations Manager, working collaboratively with other Project Delivery Managers, Site Delivery Manager (M&E), Site Delivery Manager (Civils), Planning and Delivery Manager.
Works closely with the A Finance & Commercial Manager to budget, forecast and deliver the financial targets.
Will liaise with other EAN department managers involved in delivering projects.
As part of the role you will also have to Chair monthly project reviews for all Delivery Team schemes and provide guidance and take necessary action to ensure projects are delivered safely, to schedule and within target costs.
Attend monthly Construction Operations meeting reporting progress on all schemes.
Key Performance Indicators –. Agreeing Targets/Goals and key deliverables with Project Managers to ensure all Projects are successfully delivered to EAN KPI targets.
Supporting project management teams and dealing with escalated issues and resolving conflict and priority clashes.
Governance - Ensuring project compliance with and adherence to all relevant policies, guidelines, processes and procedures.
Candidates must be from an electrical engineering background. Degree educated desirable.
